(c) Jump start
To avoid severe personal injury
and vehicle damage or electric
accessories damage caused by
battery explosion, sulfuric acid
corrosion and electrical burning,
the following instructions shall be
strictly observed.
Ask BYD authorized service station
for help if you do not know how to
operate according to the procedure.
FRIENDLY TIPS

Battery contains corrosive and
toxic sulfuric acid. Therefore,
when attempting jump start,
wear safety goggles to prevent
sulfuric acid from splashing on
skin, clothes or vehicle body.
 If sulfuric acid splashes to one‘s
body or into eyes due to
carelessness, immediately take
off the clothes stained with
sulfuric acid and flush the
affected part with clean water.
Then go to see a doctor for
treatment immediately. If
possible, continue to wash the
affected part with sponge
soaking up water or clean cloth
on the way to hospital.

If there is naked flame or spark
around, gas released from
battery will explode. When
conducting jump start, standard
jumper cable shall be used and
smoking or lighting a match is
prohibited.
NOTICE
Charging battery shall be 12V
(volt).Before confirming that charging
battery is correct, do not conduct
jump start.
Jump start procedures
1. If charging battery is installed on
another vehicle, confirm that there is
no contact between the two vehicles.
Turn off all unnecessary lamps and
accessories.
2. If necessary, remove all plugs for
orifices of charging battery and
discharged battery and cover a piece
of cloth on the opened battery orifice.
(This contributes to reducing
explosion hazard, personal injury and
burn)
3. If engine installed in vehicle with
charging battery does not run, start it
and run it for several minutes. During
jump start, gently step on accelerator
pedal and keep engine running at a
rotational speed of 2,000rpm
(round/minute).
4. Connect cables as per sequence of
a , b , c , d .
a . Connect positive pole (red) of
clamp for jumper cable to positive
post (+) of fully discharged battery.
b . Connect positive pole (red) of
clamp on the other end for jumper
cable to positive post (+) of charging
battery.
c . Connect negative pole (black) of
clamp for jumper cable to negative
post (-) of charging battery.
d . Connect negative pole (black) of
clamp on the other end for jumper
cable to an unpainted metallic fixed
point on vehicle, on which discharged
battery is installed.
