Instrument  and  Maintenance  Indicator  1-87 

When the engine is idling, this 
indicator may occasionally blink or 
temporarily illuminate after 
emergency braking. If this indicator 
goes out when the engine accelerates 
gradually, it means that the system is 
normal.   

This indicator will also remain on 
when the engine oil level is extremely 
low. This indicator is not used to 
indicate low engine oil level. Engine 
oil level shall be inspected by dipstick.   

NOTICE

 

Please do not drive the vehicle when 
the warning light is turned on even if it 
is a short distance. Otherwise, the 
engine will also be damaged.   

 
If this indicator is turned on, Please 
contact BYD authorized service 
station as soon as possible.   

5.  Engine Fault Indicator   

This indicator will remain on when the 
START button 

is at ―ON‖. If this 

indicator is turned on at any other time, 
it means that there is a fault within a 
certain control system of the engine or 

the transmission. Even though you 
may not notice the abnormality of the 
vehicle performance, continuous 
operation under this condition may 
cause severe damage to the engine. 

If this indicator is turned on, Please 
drive the car safely to the roadside 
and shut off the engine. Restart the 
engine and check this indicator. If the 
indicator still remains on, please 
contact BYD authorized service 
station for inspection as soon as 
possible. Before the fault is detected 
by BYD authorized service station, 
please carefully drive and avoid 
driving at full throttle and high speed. 

If this indicator is turned on frequently, 
please also contact BYD authorized 
service station to inspect the vehicle 
even if the indicator goes out after 
treatment according to the 
above-mentioned procedures. 

 

 

 

 

NOTICE

 

If you continue driving when the fault 
indicator is on, emission control 
system of the vehicle and engine 
itself will be damaged. Such repair is 
not in the vehicle warranty scope.   

 

6.  Smart Key System Warning 

Light 

 

Press the START button. If there is no 
key at this moment, this indicator will 
remain on for a few seconds along 
with a beeping of the buzzer, and LCD 
will display ―No key is detected‖.   

When pressing the button when you 
have the key, this indicator will not be 
turned on and the complete vehicle 
will be energized and started at this 
moment.     

If the key is brought into the car within 
a few seconds of the illumination of 
this indicator, this indicator goes out 
and the steering shaft lock is unlocked, 
and the car can be energized and 
started.   

If the indicator blinks after you press 
the START button, it indicates that
