NOTICE
Do not touch the ―Start/Stop‖ button
with oil stained hands.
WARNING
Stop operation if there is a fault in
using
the ―Start/Stop‖ button, and
contact the BYD authorized service
station immediately.
If the engine fails to be started,
In the following cases, the engine will
not be started.
When pressing the
―start, stop‖
button, the smart key warning
light will be lighted on (see the
combination instrument) and the
buzzer inside the car will beep, it
indicates that the smart key is
not in the car.
Even if the smart key is inside
the car, (e.g. on the floor, in the
cup holder or in the glove box),
the engine can not be started.
P
ressing the “Start/Stop” button
does not perform start-up function
normally, possibly for the following
reasons:
If the smart key does not work, it
may indicate that the key battery
is run out of power
Draw the smart key up to
―start/stop‖ switch to start the
engine.(Please refer to the
―Smart Entry and Smart Start
System‖ for details)
Please replace the smart key
battery as soon as possible.
(Please refer to
―Replace the
card smart key battery
‖ and
―Replace the electronic smart
key battery
‖ sections.)
If the engine is started
repeatedly in a short period.
Start the engine 10 seconds
later.
If the green indicator on the
―Start/Stop‖ button blinks, it
indicates that the steering wheel
is locked. To unlock it, please
slightly turn the steering wheel
while pressing
―start/stop‖.
Smart entry and starting system
cannot work normally in some
conditions in addition to the above
stated ones due to the environment.

system‖ for details.)
Use the smart entry and smart
starting system to drive and park.
Main points on using smart entry
and smart starting system
You can start the engine with your
smart key when using the smart entry
and starting system.
As a result, the driver might not
become aware that someone else has
removed the key from the car. In this
situation, the engine, once turned off,
cannot be started again. Also the
driver may be unaware that the power
position was not at OFF when he left
the car.
