Instrument and Maintenance Indicator 1-86 

1.  Fault Warning Indicator of 

Parking Brake 

When START 

button is at ―ON‖, this 

light will be turned on in the following 
cases.   

 

When brake fluid level is low.   

 

Braking system fault   

 

Parking brake is not removed.   

FRIENDLY TIPS 

 

It is dangerous to continue driving 
under low brake fluid level.   

 
For the following cases, the vehicle 
shall be sent to BYD authorized 
service station for inspection:   

 

When START button 

is at ―ON‖, 

this light also will not illuminate 
even though parking brake is 
used.   

 

Parking brake is released. This 
light also will not illuminate even 
though the START button is 
opened.   

Temporary illumination during 
operation does not mean any fault.   

FRIENDLY TIPS 

 

If any of the following cases occurs, 
Please immediately park the car in a 
safe place and contact BYD 
authorized service station.   

 

This light also will not go out 
even though the parking brake is 
released during the operation of 
the engine. In this case, the 
brake may not operate normally 
and the parking distance will 
become longer. Step on the 
brake pedal in a heavy way to 
give the car an emergency stop.   

 

Braking system warning light is 
still illuminating while "ABS" 
warning light is turned on. In this 
case, while braking, not only 
anti-lock braking system does 
not work, but also the vehicle 
becomes extremely unstable.   

 
2.  Indicator Light of the Driver 

Seat Belt   

This light will remind the driver of 
fastening the seat belt.    Once the 
START button 

is at ―ON‖, and safety 

belt of the driver seat is not fastened, 
this indicator light will be turned on. 

The indicator light will continue 
illuminating unless the driver fastens 
the safety belt.   

3.  Battery Charge Indicator   

This indicator is used for warning that 
the storage battery is discharging. If 
this indicator is turned on during 
driving, it means that a fault exists in 
the charging system. Engine ignition 
can be continued, but it can only be 
continued till the storage battery has 
been completely discharged. Turn off 
the air conditioner, fan, radio, etc., 
and then drive the car directly to the 
nearest BYD authorized service 
station for repair.   

4.  Low Engine Oil Pressure 

Indicator   

This indicator is used for warning low 
engine oil pressure. If this indicator 
blinks or remains on during driving, 
please pull away from the roadway, 
park the car in a safe place and 
immediately shut off the engine. 
Contact BYD authorized service 
station for help.
