Installation requirements
5.8.1
Before you begin
Damage to components may occur if power
is applied during installation or removal.
WARNING
●
Make sure power supplies are switched off before installation or removal
of the NY4110 module.
●
Do not apply power until the MCU module is installed.
Damage to components may occur due to
electrostatic discharges.
WARNING
●
Comply with all ESD protective measures while working with modules
and components. Avoid electrostatic discharges.
5.8.2
Cable connections
The NY4110 module uses IEEE 1394b connection cables to connect to other
nodes and the host. See
chapter 14 "Network" on page 205
information about the network connection. The connections to the
IEEE 1394b network are located on the front of the NY4110 module. Some
form of network cable strain relief is required for this connection type. The
cable with a IEEE 1394b connector needs a strain relief, because the
connector does not support a locking mechanism. The NY4901 strain relief
bracket is developed for this purpose. See the NYCe 4000 Standard
Housings and Accessories manual for detailed information about the
NY4901.
Make sure that your machine design has sufficient free clearance
space in front of the NY4110 module for the cable strain relief
bracket and the minimum allowed bending of the IEEE 1394b
cable(s). The width of the NY4901 cable strain relief bracket is 55
mm. Consult the specifications of the cable manufacturer for the
minimum allowed bending radius. See for more information the
NYCe 4000 Standard Housings & Accessories manual.
You must use some form of strain relief for the connection cables
to the NY4110 module to ensure reliable connections.

IT-Security
The operation of installations, systems and machines requires the
implementation of an integral concept for state-of-the-art IT security. Bosch
Rexroth products are part of this integral concept. Bosch Rexroth product
characteristics have to be taken into consideration in an integral IT security
concept. The relevant characteristics are documented in the IT security
guideline (R911342562).
