2. Click DSView Server in the top navigation bar.
3. Click SSH Server in the side navigation bar. The SSH Properties window will open.
4. To enable the SSH server:
a. Click the Enable SSH Server checkbox.
b. Enter the SSH port number, in the range 1-65535. The default port is 22.
5. To disable the SSH server, uncheck the Enable SSH Server checkbox.
6. Click Save .
7. If you changed the port value, you are prompted to confirm the change. Confirm or cancel
the change.
Enabling or disabling the SSH server will generate a DSView 3 software event.
Changing the Syslog server port
The Syslog server is always enabled when the DSView 3 software is started. You may change the
TCP port where the DSView 3 software will listen for Syslog messages forwarded by the
SSH server.
To change the Syslog server port:
1. Click the System tab.
2. Click DSView Server in the top navigation bar.
3. In the side navigation bar, click Data Logging , then Syslog Server . The Syslog Properties
window will open.
4. Enter a port value in the range 1-65535. The default value is 4514.
5. Click Save .
6. You are prompted to confirm the change. Confirm or cancel the change.
Specifying where data log files will be stored
To specify where data log files will be stored:
1. Click the System tab.
2. Click DSView Server in the top navigation bar.
3. In the side navigation bar, click Data Logging , then Location . The Data Logging Location
Properties window will open.
4. In the Location field, enter a local or network shared location, using a UNC (Universal Naming
Convention) path of up to 256 characters. You cannot specify a mapped network drive. If the
operating system supports case sensitive file names, use case sensitive text.
The default location is %< DSView 3 software installation directory >%\datalogs.
If you change the location at a later time, any data log files in the previous location will no
longer be viewable or accessible through the DSView 3 software.
Data log files are not backed up by the DSView 3 software backup utility.
