3.5 Engine operation — Yanmar
3.5.1 Starting the engine
– Move fuel tap (1) to « O » (open).
– Adjust engine speed control lever (3) to « RUN » (full load).
– Pull the starting handle slowly until you feel resistance ( I. ).
– Then return the starting handle slowly ( II. ).
– Push down the decompression lever (4); it will return automat-
ically when the recoil starter is pulled.
– Pull out the recoil starting handle (3) briskly with both hands.
3.5.2 If the engine starts
– Adjust engine speed control lever (2) to idle position.
– Allow the engine to warm up for 2 ... 3 minutes.

Attention
Do not allow starter handle to rebound against the
engine. Guide starter cable back by hand to reset
position.
