3.4 Engine operation — Honda
3.4.1 Starting the engine
– Move fuel tap (1) to « ON ».
– Move choke lever (2) to « CLOSE ».
– Adjust engine speed control lever (3) to « MAX » (full load).
– Move engine switch (4) to « ON ».
– Pull starter handle (5) slightly until resistance is felt, then pull
out sharply.

Attention
Do not allow starter handle to rebound against the
engine. Guide starter cable back by hand to reset
position.
Do not operate choke lever (2) if engine is warm or
at high outside temperature.

Important
To prevent engine damage through oil deficiency, the
engine is provided with a low oil warning system. If the
oil level is too low, the engine switches off automati-
cally (the engine switch remains in the «ON»-position).
