The PING (Packet Internet Groper) command is used to detect whether a specific IP address is accessible
by sending a packet to the specific address and waiting for a reply. It is a useful tool to confirm if the
device is installed or if the IP address conflicts with any other devices over the network.
If you want to check the IP address of the IP camera, utilise the PING command as follows:
1.
Start a DOS window.
2.
Type ping x.x.x.x , where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the device. The reply, as shown below, will
provide a summary.

Note: If you want to detect if any other device conflicts with the IP address of an IP camera, utilise the PING
command but disconnect the IP camera from the network first.
