3.11.5 Replacing the Tower Link Assembly Conveyor Belts
If the tower link assembly conveyor belts should become worn or damaged,
they will require replacing to resume good machine function.
Procedure
1. Remove the complete tower link assembly from the Tower B (see Section
3.11.2).
2. Carefully lay the tower link assembly on a suitable flat working surface
with the bottom cover facing upwards.
3. Loosen the four fixing screws and remove the bottom gear safety cover.
4. Loosen the remaining four fixing screws from the main safety cover. Slide
the safety cover away from the tower link assembly and place to one side.
5. Turn the tower link assembly over so that the top gravity roller is upper-
most.
6. Remove the circlip from behind the L/H plastic bearing on the top gravity
roller pivot shaft. Slide the nylon washer and bearing along the shaft
towards the centre of the tower link assembly and manipulate the shaft out
of the bracket.

7. Remove the top gravity belt and slide it over the shaft away from the con-
veyor.
8. Remove the two lower bridge belts one at a time by pulling them over the
rear end of the conveyor and then sliding them out from beneath the top
gravity roller pivot shaft.
9. Replace the belts with new ones and reassemble the tower link assembly
in the reverse order to the removal procedure.
10. Test machine.
