available from computer supply companies. This plugs directly into the GUI
CPU (see Figure 4:19).

See Section 4.4.5 for more details of how to set up a network of computers and
DigiVACs.

This chapter refers to some software packages that are available for computers
with Microsoft Windows 95 or later. The DigiVAC application software can
be updated using different computer operating systems, but this chapter focus-
es on Microsoft Windows because it is widely available.

4.4.4.1   Updating Software via the Ethernet Connection

 The following procedure explains how to update software via the ethernet
connection. A TFTP Server is required: make sure that the computer that has
the TFTP Server installed is correctly connected to the DigiVAC before start-
ing this procedure.

Ensure the TFTP Server is set up to transmit and receive. Some versions of this
software default to only allow files to be received, so this needs to be altered
in the configurations for the program. Set up the TFTP Server to look for the
DigiVAC Software in the correct folder on the computer.

You can download the Solarwinds TFTP server from http://solar-
winds.net/Tools/Free_Tools/TFTP_Server/Download.htm. A copy is also in-
cluded on the DigiVAC Product Support CD, Issue 4 in the folder
digivac\software\gui_utils.

4.4.4.2   Setting Up the Solarwinds TFTP Server

1. Make sure the DigiVAC software has self-extracted to the C:\GUI folder

(see Section 4.4.1.1).

2. Click on ‘Help’ and select ‘Configure’ to open the TFTP Server Configu-

ration window (see Figure 4:20).
