Procedure - 8 Bin DigiVAC
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Open the rear conveyor door, and remove the rear conveyor (see Section
3. Remove the conveyor belts by sliding them over the conveyor shafts and
off the rear conveyor assembly.
4. Replace the conveyor belts with new ones and reassemble the machine in
the reverse order to the disassembly procedure.
Procedure - 12 Bin DigiVAC
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Open the rear, conveyor door, and remove the rear conveyor.
3. Remove the two short, outer belts from the top conveyor section. Do this
by carefully manoeuvring the belts over the conveyor shaft and between
the metal work of the conveyor sections.
4. To remove the top section of the conveyor, slide the central belt over the
top drive shaft, and pull the two halves apart.
5. Remove the long conveyor belts from the lower section by sliding them
over the conveyor shafts and off the conveyor assembly.
6. To release the short, central conveyor belt, undo the four retaining screws
and remove the conveyor support bracket and drive shaft from the lower
conveyor section.
7. Replace the conveyor belts and reassemble the conveyor in the reverse
order to the disassembly procedure.
3.5.16 Replacing Worn Conveyor Wheels
Worn or dirty conveyor wheels will result in poor sheet transference from the
feeder to the rear paper conveyor. Check and clean the conveyor wheels at reg-
ular intervals to ensure that good performance is maintained (see Chapter 6
’Routine Maintenance’).
Procedure
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Open the rear conveyor door and remove the rear conveyor assembly (see
3. Remove the appropriate rear deflector plate(s) from the conveyor (see Sec-
4. Remove the conveyor shaft by pushing it to the left against the spring pres-
sure and lifting the R/H end clear.
5. Lubricate the shaft, (water based is recommended) and slide the conveyor
wheel off.
6. Place a new conveyor wheel over the end of the shaft and slide it into posi-
tion. Replace the shaft on to the machine.
7. Offer up the rear deflector plate and check that the wheel is central in the
slot.
8. Repeat stages 3. to 7. on other bins requiring new conveyor wheels.
9. Fit the rear door drive gear cover over the exposed drive gears.
