Feeder Modules
4. Check the feeder drive belt tension by pushing it towards the bin module
drive belt tensioner shaft. If the belt is correctly tensioned, it can be moved
just enough to touch the shaft.

5. The tensioner pulleys (one for each belt) are retained on a 6mm shaft,
which is secured at each end with an M5 cap screw. To adjust the tensioner
pulley, locate the two retaining screws and loosen them.
6. Apply a pressure on the screw heads in the desired direction to attain cor-
rect belt tension. Keep the pulley shaft parallel at this stage.
7. Tighten the retaining screws to set the position.
8. Check the belt tension, and readjust if required.
9. Close the rear conveyor door
10. Put the relevant bin module(s) into Bin Test Mode (see Section 3.1.1).
11. Start the DigiVAC so that the belts are running.
12. Starting with the lowermost bin of the bin module, push the separator lever
to the top position and operate the feed clutch by pressing the bin on/off
button. Watch the feeder drive belt to see if it ‘tracks’ off the clutch pulley
towards the separator adjuster lever mechanism. Also check that the belt
does not ‘jump teeth’ when the clutch is operated.
13. If the belt tracks, jumps or touches the separator adjuster mechanism, fur-
ther adjustment of the tensioner will be necessary (see below). If the belt
runs true, operate the other clutches in the module and perform the same
checks.
14. To adjust the belt tracking: set the tensioner shaft so that it is out of paral-
lel, with the outer end of the shaft closer to the front (bin side) of the
machine. Remember to maintain the correct belt tension to prevent the belt
from ‘jumping’.
15. Load paper into the bins and test the machine. Check a set as it exits the
machine. There should be an even offset between all sheets. If there is an
excessive offset between the sheets from different bin modules, tightening
the belt tension slightly.
16. Once satisfactory operation is achieved, reassemble the machine.
