Watkiss DigiVAC Service Manual - Issue 2 - 29/11/04
Service Procedures
•
GUI Control Panel ()
Light pressure with a suitable cloth should be sufficient to remove finger-
prints. Do not use excessive force.
3.4.6 Adjusting the GUI Screen Display
The GUI Screen display can be adjusted for contrast if necessary. Please note
that the apparent contrast of the screen can also be altered by simply tilting the
screen on its hinge. This allows the display to be easily adjusted to the
operator’s preference.
To alter the actual screen contrast, carry out the following steps:
Procedure
1. Switch the DigiVAC on, and wait for the screen to light up.
2. Touch
MENU
in the top right of the screen.
3. The contrast of the screen can be altered a step at a time by touching the
LIGHTER
and
DARKER
buttons on the right of the screen. The affect of the
changes to the contrast can be seen on the greyscale to the left of these but-
tons.
4. Touch
MENU
again to return to the main screen. Make sure the screen can
be seen clearly and repeat steps 2. and 3. as necessary.
3.4.7 Calibrating the GUI Screen Display
The GUI Screen can be calibrated, to make sure that the screen accurately re-
sponds to the point where it is touched. If it is not calibrated, some menus on
the screen may appear to be unresponsive, or react ‘off-centre’.
Procedure
1. With the DigiVAC switched on, touch the Stop button positioned above
the touch-screen five times.
2. The calibration screen will appear. Its first instruction is to touch the top-
left of the screen. Using a suitable object (e.g. the blunt end of a pen) touch
the screen in the extreme top-left corner. It is important that you touch the
screen in the extreme of the corner, because this tells the software the size
of the screen.
3. The calibration screen will now tell you to touch the bottom-right of the
screen. Again, using a suitable object, touch the screen in the extreme
bottom-right corner.
4. Touch the screen in the centre, where the word ‘done’ is displayed.
5. Check that the GUI Screen operates correctly, and repeat steps 1. to 4. if
necessary.
3.4.8 GUI Access Levels
The GUI has five different access levels, which can be selected by touching
MENU
and then selecting the level from the
ACCESS LEVEL
drop down list.
• Operator - this is the normal default setting.
• Supervisor - this provides additional security for locking saved jobs.
• Service - accessible by entering the code ‘1973’ when prompted.
• Distributor - access code will be provided on request.
• Factory - accessible only by the manufacturer.
Figure 3:6 shows the functions available at different access levels.
