Feeder Modules
Procedure - Removal
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Remove the R/H side cover(s) from the bin module(s) requiring service.
3. Disconnect the valve from the 900-175 BSF4 Connection PCB.
4. Grip the valve with one hand whilst turning the elbow pipe, downwards.
The valve and pipe will detach from one another.
5. Disconnect the valve from the vacuum supply manifold and remove it
from the machine.
Procedure - Cleaning
1. Remove the four dome head nuts from the underside of the valve body.
2. Remove the four fixing screws. Be careful not to lose the retaining nuts
that are captured in the valve body.
3. Carefully pull the two halves of the valve body apart. Remove the dia-
phragm from inside.
4. Clean out any offset powder and dust that may be inside the valve and in
the skirt of the diaphragm.
5. Visually check the control valve rubber for signs of perishing or leaks.
6. Place the diaphragm back into the valve, ensuring that the bleed hole is
positioned adjacent to the control valve nozzle.
7. Re-assemble the valve body ensuring that all screws are tight.
Procedure - Refitting
1. Ensure that the valve is positioned with the indicator arrow pointing to-
wards the vacuum supply manifold (towards the bins).
2. Re-fit the valve in the opposite order to removal.
3.5.11 Replacing Bin Feeder Drive Belts
In the unlikely event that a bin feeder drive belt should become damaged or
break, it will be necessary to replace it to resume machine operation.
Procedure
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Remove the joint plates, top conveyor coupling plate, feeder belt clamp
plates and feeder clutch plates from the L/H side of the machine (see Sec-
tion 3.1.4).
3. Remove the top module and bin module drive belts (see Figure 3:17 on
page 33). With the clamp plates removed it should be possible to ease the
drive belts over the pulley assemblies without having to slacken the belt
tensioner pulleys.
4. On each feeder module, disconnect the lowermost feeder clutch from the
900-174 feeder control PCB.
5. On each feeder module, remove the lowermost feeder clutch shaft assem-
bly on each bin module.
6. Remove the bin feeder drive belts from each bin module.
7. Replace the feeder drive belts, and re-assemble machine in the reverse
order to disassembly.
8. Check and adjust the tension of all belts which have been re-fitted
(see Sections 3.5.12 and 3.5.14).
