3.5.13  Replacing Bin Module Drive Belts

  

In the unlikely event that a bin module drive belt should become damaged or
break, it will be necessary to replace it to resume machine operation.   

Procedure

1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Remove the joint plates, top conveyor coupling plate, feeder belt clamp

plates and feeder clutch plates from the L/H side of the machine (see Sec-
tion 3.1.4).

3. It will now be possible to remove the bin module drive belts. With the ten-

sioner plates removed it should be possible to ease the drive belts over the
pulley assemblies without having to slacken the belt tensioner pulleys.

4. Replace the drive belts and then check and adjust the belt tension (see Sec-

tion 3.5.14).

5. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

3.5.14  Tensioning Bin Module Drive Belts

The bin module drive belt tension is factory set to minimum (fully over to the
R/H side of the adjustment slot). Unless the belts are ‘jumping teeth’ on the
pulleys, it is recommended that this be the standard tension setting.

Procedure

1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Remove all the bin module side covers from the L/H side of the machine.
3. Open the rear conveyor door.
4. Locate the two retaining screws for the tensioner pulley shaft, and loosen

them. 

5. Apply pressure on the screw heads in the desired direction to attain correct

belt tension. Keep the pulley shaft parallel.

6. Tighten the retaining screws to set the tensioner position.
7. Check the belt tension and readjust if required. 
8. When the correct belt tension is achieved, re-assemble the machine and

test.

3.5.15  Replacing the Rear Conveyor Belts

Should the rear conveyor belts become worn or broken, they will need to be
replaced to resume good machine function.
