Service Parameters For OOBA Daemon Properties—Secret tab
Use the Secret tab to provide the shared secret that will be shared with other Symantec security
gateways.

Service Parameters For OOBA Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
Service Parameters For Process Restart Properties—General tab
Process restart lets daemons automatically restart when they stop running as the result of a system
crash or other unintentional incident. This prevents traffic that is normally handled by that daemon
from being blocked until the daemon is manually restarted.

Port Port number for authenticating connections requiring a log on and log off. Do not
change this port unless you have a direct conflict.
The default value is 888.

Field Description
Secret Secret key that secures the HMAC-MD5 stored in the ticket.
The key must be between 16 and 32 characters in length.
Reveal Reveals the shared secret in plain text.
Security gateways
using shared secret Lets an administrator configure security gateways that use a shared secret.

Field Description
Enable Indicates whether this option is enabled.
This option is checked by default.
Interval between scans
(seconds) The number of seconds that are allowed to elapse between scans for active processes.
Increasing the time between scans reduces the amount of CPU time consumed for
performing restart checks, but increases the time it takes to detect failed daemons.
The default is 10 seconds.
