User Account Properties—Groups tab

authentication.
Associated tasks
The task that you can perform with this tab is:
■
“Creating an IKE-enabled user”
User Account Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
User Groups
User groups provide a convenient way to organize several users that all require the same access. Most
often, user groups are added to rules instead of specific users. This lets an administrator set up a single
rule instead of having to create a similar rule for each person that needs access. A user group also
makes it convenient to grant or remove access for a user by simply adding their user name to or
removing their user name from the user group.
Generate
Generates a shared secret.
Select a primary IKE
user group
Names of all the groups of which the user is a member.
If this is a new user, the Groups tab lets you add this user to an IKE user group so that it will
appear in this drop-down list.
An IKE-enabled user must belong to one IKE user group (unless you are creating a tunnel
directly to the user rather than to a user group, in which case you can select <NONE> here).
This is not, however, a recommended configuration.
If authenticating with a shared secret, the primary IKE group is the only group this user is
placed into. If authenticating with a certificate, all groups that this user is a member of are
checked for a best fit group. If a best fit is not found, the user is resolved to the primary IKE
group.
