479 Monitoring the security gateway
Monitoring log files
To uncheck all event types, click Clear All .
5 To display events with specific event classifications, click Classification , and from the
Classification tree, select a classification. You can expand the tree to make your search more
specific.
For example, by expanding the Access denied folder, and then expanding the Threat folder, you can
select to display only events that are Denial of service events.
6 To display events that involve specific components, do the following:
■
Click Components , and then click Add .
■
In the Select Components dialog box, in the Log Component Name list, select one or more
components, and then click
Apply .
You can use the Search capability to make it easier to find a component by doing the following:
■
In the Search drop-down list, select Contains or Starts with.
■
In the Search text box, type the text on which you want to search.
■
Click Search .
7 To display events that contain specific parameters, do the following:
■
Click Parameters , and then click Add .
■
In the Select Parameters dialog box, in the Log Parameter Name list, select a parameter that
should appear in the displayed events, and then click
OK .
You can use the Search capability to make it easier to find a parameter.
■
In the Set parameter value dialog box, in the Accreditation text box, type the parameter value
to be associated with the selected parameter, and then click
OK .
8 To display events that occur on specific security gateways, do the following:
■
Click System Names .
■
In the Value text box, type the security gateway name, and then click Add .
9 To display events with specific process IDs, do the following:
■
Click Process IDs .
■
In the Value text box, type the process ID, and then click Add .

To display events with specific message numbers, do the following:
■
Click Message Numbers .
■
In the Value text box, type the message number, and then click Add .
