LDAP Properties—Description tab
Optionally, provides an extended description. This information is useful to help track changes or it can
be used as criteria for searches.
The maximum length is 20,000 alphanumeric characters.
RADIUS Properties—General tab
The security gateway supports FTP, Telnet, and HTTP authentication using Remote Authentication
Dial-In User Service (RADIUS). RADIUS is a UDP-based authentication method.
For static RADIUS user authentication, users must have local accounts, defined on the security
gateway. There is no requirement for local user accounts with dynamic user authentication.

Server authentication password LDAP password to secure the connection between the security gateway and the
LDAP server.

Field Description
Name A unique name for the RADIUS authentication server record.
The maximum length is 256 characters.
Allowed characters include a-z, A-Z, numerals, periods (.), dashes (-), and underscores
(_). Do not include spaces in the name. The characters @,!,#,$,%,^,&,*,<,> and other
reserved characters are also invalid.
Primary server IP address or fully qualified domain name of the RADIUS authentication server.
Primary server port UDP port on which the RADIUS server listens.
The default is port 1812.
Primary server secret Secret key the security gateway uses to communicate with the primary RADIUS server.
Alternate server IP address or fully qualified domain name of the alternate RADIUS authentication
server. The security gateway tries the alternate server only if it cannot connect to the
primary server.
Alternate server port UDP port on which the alternate RADIUS server listens.
The default is port 1812.
Alternate server secret Secret key the security gateway uses to communicate with the alternate RADIUS server.
Caption An optional, brief description of the RADIUS server.
The maximum length is 128 characters.
