Glossary
Knowledge of the following terms and acronyms is useful in the administration of
the Netra CT server.
A
alarm card A card that occupies a slot in the Netra CT server. The alarm card responds to
events, such as I/O card failures or excessive heat. Software that resides on the
card can take action in response to such events.
ASIC Accronym for application-specific integrated cicuit.

basic hot-swap One of the hot-swap methods. In the basic hot-swap model, the hardware
connection process can be performed automatically by the hardware, while the
