All of the keys are used in conjunction with the display to allow the operator to interface
with the Master Time Programmer.
C.) Display
The display of the Master Time Programmer is a 16 character by 2 line LCD. This
display normally displays time of day, date, and schedule that is currently running. The
display of that information is commonly referred to as the “time and date display.”
The display is also used in conjunction with the keypad to allow the operator to inter-
face with the Master Time Programmer. When the operator is using the Master Time
Programmer, the display provides information to help the operator.
The display is equipped with a backlight. This backlight is factory programmed to
remain on continuously. It is possible to field program the backlight to be off most of
the time. If field programmed this way, the backlight would automatically turn on if the
keypad of the Master Time Programmer is used, and would automatically turn off 2
minutes after the operator was done using the Master Time Programmer. See “Installa-
tion” section of this manual for instructions on field programming the backlight.
D.) Using the System Controls to Operate and Program the Master Time Programmer
When operating or programming the Master Time Programmer, the keypad and the
display are the two system controls the operator will use almost all of the time. The
purpose of each key is discussed in the preceding “Keypad” portion of this section of
this manual.
The four main types of prompts the operator will get when operating or programming
the Master Time Programmer are: (1) menu prompts; (2) text prompts; (3) toggle
prompts; and (4) yes/no prompts.
