OPERATION
To set an offset from UTC other than one of these four, press
‘5’
(Time
Behind) to set a time zone in the Earth’s western hemisphere, or
‘6’
(Time
Ahead) to set a time zone in the Earth’s eastern hemisphere. When either
the
‘5’
(Time Behind) or
‘6’
(Time Ahead) key is pressed, the number of hours
and minutes behind or ahead of UTC can be set. The display prompts the
operator through the following screens to set the time zone.
Use the
‘0’
to
‘9’
keys to enter the hours behind or hours ahead of
UTC. Entering the hours will display the new hours on the second line
of the display. After the hours are entered, press the
‘Enter’
key.
Use the
‘0’
to
‘9’
keys to enter the minutes behind or minutes ahead
of the hours offset from UTC. For example, if your time zone is 5 hours
and 45 minutes behind UTC, you would enter 45 here. Entering the
minutes will display the new minutes on the second line of the
display. After the minutes are entered, press the
‘Enter’
key.
The operator is now returned to the Set Time Zone display. The operator must
press
‘Enter’
again to accept the new time zone values.
6.) Edit Phone Number: To set the phone number that the 1467 UTC Module’s
MODEM will call for a UTC calibration, press the
‘6’
key (Phone Number) from
the WWV Defaults Menu. The display now allows the operator to enter the
number needed to call NIST-ACTS. A cursor shows the operator which digit is
being edited. The
‘Esc’
key moves the cursor to the previous digit. The
‘C’
key
inserts a 3 second pause in the dialing sequence. The
‘D’
key erases the digit
the cursor is on. After entering the phone number, press the
‘Enter’
key.
7.) Baud Rate: To set the DTE baud rate between the 1467 UTC Module and its
MODEM, press the
‘7’ key (Baud Rate) from the WWV Defaults Menu. Press ‘1’
for 1200 baud,
‘2’ for 2400 baud, ‘3’ for 9600 baud, or ‘4’ for 19,200 baud.
Pressing the

the baud rate is entered, press the
‘Enter’ key.
NOTE:
This baud rate (DTE baud rate) is the baud rate between the 1467 UTC
Module and its MODEM. The baud rate between the 1467’s MODEM
