OPERATION

g.) WWV (UTC) Calibration: The 1467 UTC Option allows this Master Time

Programmer to synchronize itself to Universal Time Coordinated via a MODEM
and telephone lines. UTC is an internationally agreed upon time standard. The
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) transmits UTC via
MODEM from its Automated Computer Time Service (ACTS). The service is free
of charge, but depending on the user’s location, the phone call made to
NIST-ACTS is probably a toll call. In order for this Master Time Programmer to
have this capability, the 1467 UTC Module and its MODEM must be properly
installed as per its installation instructions (P/N 445769), AND the operation of
the UTC Module must be enabled and programmed for desired operation.

The Master Time Programmer attempts to make each scheduled calibration at
least three times before giving up. If the scheduled calibration does not occur
for some reason beyond the Master Time Programmer’s control, the Master Time
Programmer will notify the user by flashing an error message on its display.

To program the operation of the 1467 UTC Module and its MODEM, press the

‘7’

(WWV) key from the Set Defaults Menu. After pressing the

‘7’

key, the WWV

Defaults Menu is displayed. There are eight choices in this menu: 1=WWV
Enable/Dis, 2=Call Rate, 3=Aftr Pwr Fail, 4=Call Time, 5=Set Time Zone,
6=Phone Number, 7=Baud Rate, and 8=Call WWV Now.

1.) WWV Enable/Disable: To enable or disable the 1467 UTC Module , press

the

‘1’

(WWV Enable/Disable) key from the WWV Defaults Menu. The display

now prompts the operator to press

‘1’

to enable or

‘2’

to disable the 1467 UTC

Module. Pressing the

‘1’

or

‘2’

key will change the data in the brackets <>. After

enable or disable is chosen, press the

‘Enter’

key.

NOTE:

When the 1467 UTC Module is disabled, items

‘2’

through

‘8’

of the

WWV Defaults Menu are NOT available.
