NOTE:

Installation is to be done only by qualified personnel who have thoroughly read and
understand these instructions. Installation is to be done in accordance with the
National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes.

CAUTION:

ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD! Ensure that NO electrical power is present on any
wire before installation.

I.) Preparing to install the 1467:

1.) Ensure that all necessary parts for the 1467 module are included in the package. Check items

against the following parts list:

2.) Prior to installation of the 1467, you will need to obtain the following items:

a.) a Hayes

TM

Smartmodem 1200

TM

compatible MODEM.

b.) a MODEM cable -

One end should have a 25 pin, female, D-subminiature connector.

The other end of the cable must mate with the connector of your MODEM
(item 2.a. above). Use D-subminiature connector accessories (e.g., "gender-bender",
25 pin to 9 pin D-subminiature converter) as necessary.
NOTE: the MODEM cable may not exceed 1/2" dia. for the cable.

WARNING: Make sure all connector accessories are "straight-through" accessories.

Other accessories, such as "null modems" may interfere with the operation
of the 1467!

c.) a telephone line installed at the site capable of being used to call the UTC calibration

MODEM (i.e., the NIST-ACTS MODEM in boulder, CO).

d.) a firmware (P/N 943472) upgrade for your Master Time Programmer if it does not already

have Version 2.250 firmware, or higher.
