6.) Manual Advance: A manual advance is the partial or complete hourly correction
of the secondary clocks by manually controlling either clock circuit at the keypad.
The operation of a clock circuit will vary to be consistent with the clock code pro-
grammed for the clock circuit (See "Program Clocks" in the Level 3 Programming
section of this manual). For clock circuits programmed with a clock code not having
an hourly correction, the manual advance will be inoperative.
Some precautions should be taken when performing a manual advance. Failure to
follow these precautions could scatter the times displayed by the secondary clocks.
a.) AVOID MANUALLY ADVANCING SECONDARY CLOCKS BETWEEN 5
MINUTES PRIOR AND 5 MINUTES AFTER EACH HOUR. This is usually the
time automatic hourly corrections occur.
b.) AVOID MANUALLY ADVANCING SECONDARY CLOCKS BETWEEN THE
HOURS OF 5 AM AND 6 AM AND BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5 PM AND
6 PM. This is usually the time automatic 12 hour corrections occur.
c.) AVOID HOLDING THE
‘C’
OR
‘D’
KEY IN FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES AT A
TIME. Most manual advances will req
uire no more th
an 1 minute of holding the
‘C’
or
‘D’
key in.
After pressing
‘6’
from the Main Menu, the operator is prompted through the follow-
ing screen to manually advance either clock circuit.
Press and hold the
‘C’
key as long as necessary to manually advance
the secondary clocks connected to clock circuit #1. Press and hold
the
‘D’
key as long as necessary to manually advance the secondary
clocks connected to clock circuit #2. Release the
‘C’
or
‘D’
key and
press the
‘Esc’
key when finished.
NOTE: Only one clock circuit may
be manually advanced at a time.
7.) Clock Enable: After pressing
‘7’
from the Main Menu, the operator is prompted
through the following screens to enable or disable each clock circuit. Disabling the
clock circuit will de-energize all the relays of the clock circuit and prevent them from
operating.
NOTE: Synchronous clocks receive their run power through the normally closed
contact on the run relay. Therefore, they will continue to run when the clock circuit
is disabled.
Use the
‘1’
key to enable clock circuit one or the
‘2’
key to disable
clock circuit one. Entering enable or disable will change the data
between the brackets<>. After enable or disable is entered, press the
‘Enter’
key.
Use the
‘1’
key to enable clock circuit two or the
‘2’
key to disable
clock circuit two. Entering enable or disable will change the data
between the brackets<>. After enable or disable is entered, press the
‘Enter’
key.
