II.) Adding 1467 to 1460/TC1260:
CAUTION:
ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD! Ensure that NO electrical power is present on any wire
BEFORE installation.
1.) Remove the two Truss head screws on the left side of the door. Open the door. Save these
two Truss head screws.
2.) Carefully remove the rectangular knock-out on the lower left side of the 1460's/TC1260's
surface box.
3.) Mount the UTC Circuit Board (P/N 413203) on the door.
a.) Place the four 3/8" spacers (P/N P8397-11) provided on the exposed studs on the lower
portion of the inside of the door.
b.) With the 25 pin, male, D-subminiature connector of the circuit board facing the hinge of
the door, place the circuit board on the exposed studs with the four 3/8" spacers mounted
between the door and the circuit board. See Figure 2.
c.) Secure the board in place using four of the provided Keps
®
nuts (P/N 18965).
See Figure 2.
4.) Connect the cable ass'y (P/N 444859) between J6 on the main board of the 1460/TC1260
and J1 on the UTC Circuit Board (P/N 413203). See Figure 1.
WARNING: Make sure the connectors of the cable ass'y are seated correctly and that
proper polarity is observed. Improper installation may damage the 1467
and/or the 1460/TC1260.
5.) Carefully pass the 25 pin, female, D-subminiature connector end of the MODEM cable
through the rectangular knock-out hole of step 2 and mate it with the D-subminiature
connector of the UTC Circuit Board (P/N 413203).
6.) Mount the cover plate (P/N 446058) to the inside of the left side of the surface box.
a.) Slide slot of the cover plate over the modem cable such that the modem cable is located
within the hole of the cover plate.
b.) Position the cover plate on the two studs adjacent to the rectangular knock-out.
See Figure 1.
c.) Use the remaining two Keps
®
nuts (P/N 18965) to loosely hold the cover plate in place.
See Figure 1.
7.) Install the bushing (P/N 943451).
a.) Outside of the surface box, slide the bushing over the modem cable.
b.) Snap the bushing into the hole of the cover plate. Ensure that the split of the bushing is
facing away from the slot of the cover plate.
c.) Move the cover plate such that the edges of the rectangular knock-out hole are not putting
any pressure on the bushing.
d.) Tighten the Keps
®
nuts (P/N 18965) that hold the cover plate in desired position.
8.) Close the door of the 1460/TC1260. Secure it in place with the two Truss head screws
removed in step 1.
9.) Install the MODEM in desired location in accordance with the MODEM manufacturer's
instructions. Connect the MODEM cable to the modem.
10.) Reconnect all system power and program the 1467 in accordance with the 1460/1461
Owner's Manual (P/N 445727) or the TC1260 Owner's Manual (P/N 445847).
WARNING: Some precautions should be taken when programming the "Call Time"
into the WWV Defaults Menu:
(a).
AVOID USING A CALL TIME THAT IS BETWEEN 5 MINUTES BEFORE AND
5 MINUTES AFTER EACH HOUR. This is usually the time automatic hourly
corrections of secondary clocks occur.
(b).
AVOID USING A CALL TIME THAT IS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5 AM AND
6 AM, and BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5 PM AND 6 PM This is usually the time
automatic 12 hour corrections occur.
(c).
AVOID USING A CALL TIME THAT IS WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF A PROGRAMMED
EVENT.
