Library Features
Available Configurations
The Spectra T24 library is available in configurations of 12 or 24 slots and with 1 or 2
half-height drives, either LTO-2 or LTO-3. Libraries can be upgraded in the field.
User Interface
An Operator Control Panel (OCP) is located on the front of the library—a monochrome
display that is operated with buttons. You can also access the library remotely using
the Remote Library Controller (RLC) on any Web browser.
Bar Code Reader
The library’s bar code reader provides inventory feedback to the host application and
OCP by reading the media’s bar code labels.
Magazines
The library has two removable magazines for holding tapes. The left magazine has a
mailslot that works like a single-tape entry/exit port. You can release both magazines
and open the mailslot using the OCP (the RLC cannot be used for safety reasons).
Compatibility
The library is compatible with most operating systems in SCSI environments. However,
the library requires either direct support from the operating system or a compatible
backup application to take full advantage of its many features.
