Chapter 6. Maintenance

Cleaning Tape Drives

To clean the tape drive(s) installed in the library, follow the steps below.

Loading the Cleaning Cartridge

Go to the front of the library.

From the main screen on the front panel, press the

DOWN

button.

The screen displays the Main menu.

Mainmenu

Information

Commands

Configure

Service

Idle Rand

Use the

DOWN

button to select

Commands

, then press the Enter button.

The Commands menu appears.

Mainmenu > Commands

Open Mailslot

Move Medium

Unlock Magazines

Reinventory

Idle Rand

Make sure that

Open Mailslot

is selected, then press the Enter button.

The OCP indicates that it is unlocking the mailslot, then the mailslot
automatically opens.

Insert a cleaning cartridge, then gently push the mailslot closed.

Proceed to
