Connecting the SCSI and Power Cables
The LTO-3 tape drive is an Ultra160/Ultra320 SCSI LVD device. Only cables and
terminators specified for Ultra160/Ultra320 use (or labeled as MultiMode) should be
used.
The LTO-2 tape drive is an Ultra160 SCSI LVD/SE device. Only cables and terminators
specified for Ultra160 use (or labeled as MultiMode) should be used.
Warning:
This product can
only
be used with a Spectra-Logic-approved
power cord for your specific geographic region.
• A non-approved power cord may not meet individual country
specific safety requirements.
• A non-approved power cord may conduct insufficient
amperage, which could result in overheating with potential
personal injury and/or equipment damage.
• An unapproved power cord could fracture, resulting in the
internal contacts being exposed, which potentially could
subject the user to a shock hazard. Spectra Logic disclaims all
liability in the event that a non-approved power cord is used.
To connect the SCSI and power cables to the tape library:
1.
Shut down and turn off the host server.
2.
Turn off all other devices attached to the host, such as printers and other SCSI
devices.
3.
Remove the power cables from the server and all attached accessories.
4.
Attach one end of the SCSI cable (included in the accessory package) to one of
the SCSI ports on the back panel of the library (Figure 3-5).
