Chapter 5. Using the Library

Using the Mailslot

Follow the steps below to import and export single tapes through the mailslot.

Note:

For safety reasons, you cannot use the RLC to access the mailslot.

If exporting a tape, follow the steps
under

Moving Media within the

Library

on page 48 to move the

desired cartridge to the mailslot.

Go to the front of the library.

From the main screen on the front
panel, press the

DOWN

button.

The screen displays the Main menu.

Use the

DOWN

button to select

Commands

, then press the Enter

button.

The Commands menu appears.

Make sure that

Open Mailslot

selected, then press the Enter button.

The OCP indicates that it is
unlocking the mailslot, then the
mailslot automatically opens.

Remove and/or insert a tape cartridge, then gently push the mailslot closed.

The OCP returns to the Commands menu while it scans for a new tape.

Press the

CANCEL

button to return to the home screen.
