Write-Protecting Media
Note:
This section does not apply to WORM media.
All re-writable data cartridges have a write-protect switch to prevent the erasure or
overwriting of data. Before loading a cartridge into the library, make sure that the
write-protect switch on the front of the cartridge is in the desired position.
To write-protect the data on the cartridge, slide the switch to the right. A small padlock
icon indicates that the cartridge is write-protected (see Figure 6-4).
To make the cartridge available for erasing or storing data, slide the switch to the left
(as shown in Figure 6-4).
