Digital Process-Viewing Camera
Camera Alignment
The camera is precisely aligned at the factory so the image stays centered and in focus
throughout its zoom range. If the image drifts off center or out of focus when zooming
in or out, contact IPG Photonics customer service to have the camera realigned.
If the image stays in focus but drifts off center during the zoom, perform a limited
alignment procedure to correct this
centration
error.
Adjusting Centration
To adjust centration, adjust the angle of the mirror at the top of the camera. This
mirror is spring-loaded against three set screws—one at the rear and two at the front.

To adjust the camera’s centration:
1. Position a part so that one of its features is centered in the process camera’s
crosshairs when the camera is fully zoomed
in
(at maximum magnification).
2. Zoom all the way
out
. If the part feature is out of view, zoom back in until it is just
within the field of view.
3. Move the feature up or down to align with the horizontal crosshair by making
small adjustments and repeating them as needed:
• Loosen both of the front set screws equally, and then tighten the rear set
screw.
• Or, loosen the rear set screw, and then tighten both of the front set screws
equally.
Caution:
Do not tighten a screw until another is loosened. Damage to the mirror can result.
4. Move the feature left or right to align with the vertical crosshair in a similar way:
• Loosen one of the front set screws and tighten the other one.
(Do not adjust the rear set screw.)
5. Repeat these steps from the beginning until the feature remains centered
throughout the camera’s zoom range.

Do not adjust these screws
until following steps and
