Beam Expander

Beam Expander

The Beam Expander functions as a 2-8X telescope to increase the size of the laser beam

as required. The telescopic element inside the enclosure is a consumable optic that

may need periodic replacement. Refer to "BDS Optics" on page 8-3 and to the

"Maintaining the Workstation" Chapter 12.

Replacement of BDS optics is only performed by an authorized IPG Service Representative.

Do not attempt to make any adjustments to alignment thumbwheels inside the Beam
