Ventilation and Debris Control
IPG Photonics workstations use several kinds of ventilation to keep the work
environment safe and control contamination. The included

Facility
Requirements
(IPG part number P21-010255) includes the specifications for connecting
the workstation to your facility’s ventilation system.
Workstation Ventilation
Roof Exhaust
IPG Photonics enclosed workstations have an enclosure ventilation fitting on the top
for a 4-inch duct. This duct connects to your facility’s ventilation system, creating
slight negative pressure inside the whole enclosure. This removes excess heat and
keeps vapors and particulates from escaping into the surrounding area.
The workstation requires ventilation for the laser enclosure, the workstation
enclosure, and the processing area.
WARNING!
The gases ventilated from the system may be toxic. Be sure to expel the gases
completely outside the facility and in accordance with local, regional and national
standards.
