3. Press the button beneath 

Enabl

.  The top line of the screen displays the revised

setting.  If you have the Hot Spare feature enabled, the screen displays the
message:  

Invalid: Alt mode enable

.  If you have any connections on the DS1b

line, the screen displays the message:  

Connections on Prot Line

.  If the Frame

parameter is not set to ESF, the screen displays the message:  

Invalid Config for

APC

.  Press any button to restore the display back to the current menu selection.

When the APC feature is enabled, the ISX 5312/5314 will not allow you to
change the Frame parameter on the DS1a and DS1b lines.  It also will not allow
you to change the channel connection, signaling, or daisy-chain parameters on
the DS1b line.

Escape

 button to return to the Configure APC submenu.

The Inhibit parameter allows you to inhibit (prevent) a switch to the other line from the
current service line.  When this parameter is enabled, whatever line is not currently
carrying the service is inhibited.  For example, if the ISX 5312/5314 is currently carrying
the service on the primary line and you enable the Inhibit parameter, the unit will not
switch to the protection line in the event of a failure on the primary line.

To enable the Inhibit parameter, follow these steps:
