Connecting to the DTEs
The Excalibur ISX 5312 provides two 26-pin micro connectors labeled Port 1 and
Port 2 for connecting to the DTEs. The Excalibur ISX 5314 provides four connectors
labeled Port 1 , Port 2 , Port 3 , and Port 4 .
Note : The following information about cables and connector pin assignments does not
apply for central site units that have the DTE ports configured to present an interface
similar to an ISX 5010. (See “Setting the DTE Port Interface Type”earlier in this
chapter.) If the DTE ports are configured to present an ISX 5010 interface, refer to the
ISX 5010 Installation and Operation Manual for information about cables and connector
pin assignments.
Use adapter cable Part No. 5956-879R (26-pin micro male to 34-pin female) to make this
connection. (You can order this cable from Milgo.) To connect to the DTE, plug the
male end of the cable into the ISX 5312/5314 and plug the female end into your standard
V.35 cable. Table 2-1 lists the pin and signal assignments for this connector. The cable
diagram is provided in Appendix B.
