Chapter 5

Online Operation

Overview

After you have properly installed the Excalibur ISX 5312/5314 and defined its operating
parameters, it can begin transmitting data over the T-1 link.  This chapter describes the
different procedures you can perform while the ISX 5312/5314 is operating online.
These include monitoring current operating status, viewing error statistics, viewing
stored alarms, and using the External Dial Backup feature.

Entering the Status Menu

To monitor the ISX 5312/5314's operating status, you must enter the Status menu.  To do
so, follow these steps, starting from the Top Level Menu:
