Excalibur ISX 5312/5314 T-1 Multiplexer Installation and Operation

DS0

The DS0 parameter specifies the number of dial backup N x 56 Kbps or N x 64 Kbps
(where N = 1 to 24) channels used by DTE 2.  The available options are

 through 

24

.

The correct setting depends on the bandwidth supported by the backup device connected
to DTE 2.

Rate

The Rate parameter specifies the bandwidth per DS0 assigned to DTE 2.  The available
options are 

56K

 (N x 56 Kbps) and 

64K

 (N x 64 Kbps).  The correct setting depends on

the bandwidth supported by the backup device connected to DTE 2.

Trigger

For T-1 environments, the Trigger parameter allows you to specify the conditions
(alarms generated on the DS1 line) under which the ISX 5312/5314 initiates the
automatic dial backup mode.  For FT-1 environments, you can enable the Loss of
Remote Communications (LRC) alarm, which is the condition under which the
ISX 5312/5314 goes into dial backup mode.  The Trigger parameter is non-functional
when the Connect Timer parameter is set to Auto-Answer.

To enable or disable each alarm condition, follow these steps, starting from the DTE 2
Backup Parameters submenu:
