Chapter 4 —Parts
To access the Parameters described on this page (unless otherwise noted):
press the Params button, turn the Parameter knob to locate the parameter,
and then turn the Value knob to change the parameter's setting.

T he M R - R ack ’ s display will r e f lect Exp r ession changes made via M I D I j ust as i f you ’ d
made them f r om the f r ont panel.
When this parameter is edited on a Part that uses a Drum Kit, all of the Sounds in the
Drum Kit are affected simultaneously by the changes you make.
To Invert a Part’s Response to Volume and Expression Values
T he V ol/ M ixPola r ity pa r amete r r eve r ses the manne r in which a Pa r t will r espond to V olume
and Exp r ession settings. W hen set to +Pos, the Pa r t will r espond no r mally : highe r V olume
and Exp r ession values will r esult in g r eate r loudness. W hen it ’ s set to -Neg, highe r V olume
and Exp r ession values will lowe r the level o f the Pa r t ’ s Sound.
1. Use the Select Pa r t buttons to choose the Pa r t whose r elative loudness you ’ d like to
ad j ust.
2. P r ess the Pa r ams button.
3. T u r n the Pa r amete r knob until the display shows “V ol/ M ixPola r ity=. ”
4. T u r n the V alue knob to set the Pa r t ’ s V olume/ M ix pola r ity as you p r e f e r .

M R - R ack Sounds a r e p r og r ammed to appea r in speci f ic places in the le f t/ r ight ste r eo f ield.
By ad j usting a Pa r t ’ s pan setting, you can o ff set the ste r eo placement o f any Sound it uses.
A value o f Cente r 00 will leave the Sound panned as it was p r og r ammed. L owe r values will
shi f t it to the le f t, and highe r values will move it to the r ight. A Pa r t Pan value o f L e f t -64
shi f ts a Sound ha r d le f t, while +63 shi f ts it ha r d r ight.
