Wor king wit h D r y Sounds
M R - R ack Pa r ts and thei r Sounds don ’ t have to use the M R - R ack E ff ects — they can be
assigned to the D r y bus ( see “ Unde r standing E ff ects Busses ” above ) . T he D r y bus can be
r outed to eithe r the M R - R ack ’ s M ain o r A ux Outs.
To Set the Dry Bus’s Output Routing
1. P r ess Ente r .
2. T u r n the Pa r amete r knob until the display shows :

5. Use the value knob to r oute the D r y E ff ect bus ’ s output to the M R - R ack ’ s r ea r -panel

Bypassing Ef f e c t s
T he r e may be times when you ’ d like to tempo r a r ily tu r n an E ff ect — o r all o f the E ff ects — o ff
in o r de r to hea r the Sounds you ’ r e using them on in thei r une ff ected, “ d r y, ” state. T his is
accomplished by

the E ff ects. Y ou can bypass an individual E ff ect, pai r s o f them
o r all o f them at once. T he M R - R ack p r ovides a numbe r o f ways to bypass E ff ects, so that
it ’ s easy to do no matte r what you ’ r e cu rr ently doing with the M R - R ack. Some bypass
methods use the E ff ects button, some use the E ff ects Bypass pa r amete r , and one uses both.
Note:
W hen the I nse r t E ff ects is bypassed, it still r esponds to r eal-time modulation
via M I D I . A ny r eal-time changes made by that modulation while the E ff ect is
bypassed will be hea r d when it ’ s un-bypassed.
T he E ff ect button ’ s r ed L ED tells you at a glance whethe r any o r all o f the E ff ects a r e
bypassed :
• I f the E ff ect button ’ s r ed L ED is not lit, none o f the E ff ects a r e bypassed.
• I f the E ff ect button ’ s r ed L ED is lit and not f lashing, one o r two o f the E ff ects a r e
bypassed and won ’ t be hea r d. ( See “L ea r ning W hich E ff ects A r e Bypassed ” below to
lea r n how to tell which E ff ect o r E ff ects a r e tu r ned o ff . )
• I f the E ff ect button ’ s r ed L ED is f lashing, all o f the E ff ects a r e bypassed and won ’ t be
hea r d.
