Chapter 4 —Parts
To access the Parameters described on this page (unless otherwise noted):
press the Params button, turn the Parameter knob to locate the parameter,
and then turn the Value knob to change the parameter's setting.

6. T u r n the V alue knob until Pa r t M I D I Channel=Stak.
Note that the Pa r t ’ s M I D I channel on the top line o f the display has changed to “ stak. ”
W hen you ’ r e selecting Sounds f o r a Pa r t, o r editing Pa r t pa r amete r s, you can look to
this a r ea to quickly asce r tain i f the selected Pa r t is assigned to a Stak.

T he Pa r t you ’ r e wo r king with will now r espond to M I D I on the Stak M I D I channel you
chose in Step 2.
7. P r ess the Sounds button.
8. Use the Sound T ype knob and the Sound Name knob to select a Sound f o r the f i r st Pa r t
in you r Stak.
9. R epeat Steps 3 th r ough 8 to add othe r Pa r ts — and Sounds — to the Stak.
Each Pa r t in the Stak can be edited, using the Pa r t pa r amete r s desc r ibed in this chapte r ,
without a ff ecting the othe r Pa r ts in the Stak. Y ou c r eate splits by setting Pa r ts in a Stak to
di ff e r ent key r anges with the K ey R ange L o and Hi pa r amete r s, desc r ibed late r in this
chapte r .
T he System pa r amete r Stak Cohe r ence allows you to pe r f ectly synch r onize the beginning o f
any notes played in a Stak. Details on this pa r amete r can be f ound in C h a p t er 3 .
