Note:
R emembe r to r eset the System “A ux T o M ainOuts ” pa r amete r i f you do not want
to send the A ux signals to the M ain Outputs.
Tr ouble shoot ing the M R - R ac k
T he success f ul ope r ation o f a M I D I r ig depends on p r ope r settings f o r all o f the gea r
involved. Howeve r , even when you r othe r equipment is co rr ectly con f igu r ed, the r e may be
times when things don ’ t go quite as you planned.
If the MR-Rack Doesn’t Play
Symptom:
Y ou ’ r e playing you r cont r olle r o r r unning you r sequence r , but the M R - R ack is silent.
What’s Going On:
T he r e a r e a f ew possibilities. Follow the steps below until the p r oblem is solved.
Remedy:
1. M ake su r e that you r cont r olle r ’ s o r sequence r ’ s M I D I Out is connected to the M R - R ack ’ s
M I D I I n. I f you ’ r e using a M I D I patchbay o r going th r ough a compute r , consult the
documentation f o r those devices to make su r e you connections a r e co rr ectly made.

2. Settlinge r ’ s L aw ( who was that guy, anyway? ) demands that you con f i r m that all the
devices involved a r e powe r ed up.
3. A sce r tain the M I D I channel o r channels that you r cont r olle r o r sequence r is
t r ansmitting on.
4. P r ess the M R - R ack ’ s Sound button and use the M R - R ack ’ s up and down Select Pa r t
buttons to make su r e that the Pa r t o r Pa r ts you want to use a r e set to the M I D I
channel ( s ) you r cont r olle r o r sequence r is set to.
5. I f the Pa r t M I D I channel ( s ) doesn ’ t ag r ee with you r cont r olle r ’ s o r sequence r ’ s, you ’ ll
have to change eithe r the M R - R ack ’ s o r you r cont r olle r ’ s o r sequence r ’ s setting ( s ) . T o
change the M R - R ack ’ s, p r ess the Pa r ams button once o r twice to display each r elevant
Pa r t ’ s M I D I Chan pa r amete r , and use the V alue knob to r eset the Pa r t ’ s channel.
6. I f a Pa r t is set to Stak, p r ess the System button, and use the Pa r amete r knob to locate
the Stak M I D I Channel pa r amete r and lea r n which M I D I channel Stak is set to. I f it
needs to be changed, use the V alue knob to change it. ( Staks a r e desc r ibed f ully in

If You’re Hearing Sounds You Don’t Expect to Hear
Symptom:
Y ou ’ d like to listen to individual Sounds, but when you select one, you seem to be hea r ing
additional Sounds.

T he M R - R ack ’ s Pa r ts can be set so that they sha r e M I D I channels. Y ou ’ r e in a Pe r f o r mance
whe r e this is the case.
