• I f you ’ r e connecting the M R - R ack to an audio patch bay, o r i f you ’ ve got f ou r available
inputs on you r mixing console, you may elect to use all o f the M R - R ack ’ s Outs. T he M R -
R ack o ff e r s — in addition to its M ain Outs — a pai r o f A ux Outs, use f ul f o r ext r acting
Sounds o r g r oups o f Sounds f r om the M R - R ack ’ s M ain Outs mix. T his allows you to
t r eat the ext r acted mate r ial with its own outboa r d p r ocessing, o r to cont r ol its volume
mo r e easily by assigning it its own f ade r s on a mixe r . T o use all f ou r Outs, you ’ ll need
f ou r 1/4 ” phone-type cables. connect one end o f each to the M R - R acks ’ r ea r -panel M ain
and A ux Outs L e f t and R ight, and the othe r end to a patch bay position o r mixe r

M aking the P ow e r C onne c t ion
T he M R - R ack r equi r es g r ounded A C powe r , supplied th r ough the powe r co r d that came with
you r M R - R ack. T he M R - R ack powe r supply is intelligent and will ad j ust to you r local
voltage.
To Connect the MR-Rack’s AC Power
1. Connect one end o f the M R - R ack ’ s powe r cable to a g r ounded A C outlet.
2. Connect the othe r end o f the M R - R ack ’ s powe r co r d to the j ack labeled “L ine ” on the
M R - R ack ’ s r ea r panel.
3. Connect the othe r pieces o f equipment in you r system r equi r ing A C powe r to A C outlets.
Powering Up
Y ou should always tu r n on the device which will be t r ansmitting M I D I be f o r e you tu r n on
the device which will be r eceiving it. I f you have a se r ies o f M I D I devices, sta r t with the f i r st
device in the chain, then powe r up the second, the thi r d, and so on. T his p r events
