Connecting the Rest of Your System
Now that you ’ ve made you r M I D I connections between you r compute r , cont r olle r and the
M R - R ack, skip ahead to “ M aking A udio Connections ” late r in this chapte r .

Using the MR-Rack with a Computer, Controller and MIDI Merger
Compute r s a r e powe r f ul musical tools when out f itted with the p r ope r musical ha r dwa r e and
so f twa r e. Some compute r s p r ovide M I D I I n/Out/ T h r u j acks. I f you r s doesn ’ t, you ’ ll need to
pu r chase a M I D I inte r f ace f o r you r compute r . T he r e a r e many excellent M I D I sequencing
p r og r ams on the ma r ket, including Gene r al M I D I sequence r s. Once you ’ ve installed one on
you r compute r , you ’ ll be able to pu r chase and play p r e- r eco r ded sequences — o r r eco r d you r
own music — using the Sounds onboa r d the M R - R ack. ENSON I Q will p r ovide you with
Unisyn sound editing so f twa r e f o r you r compute r when you f ill out and mail in you r
completed wa rr anty ca r d. Once you ’ ve installed the Unisyn edito r on you r compute r , you ’ ll

documentation to lea r n how to use them with a multi-timb r al module such as the M R - R ack.

To Connect the MR-Rack
1. Connect one end o f a M I D I cable to you r cont r olle r ’ s M I D I Out.
2. Connect the cable ’ s othe r end to one o f the me r ge r ’ s M I D I I ns.
3. Connect one end o f a second M I D I cable to the me r ge r ’ s M I D I Out.
4. Connect its othe r end to the compute r ’ s M I D I I n.
5. Connect a thi r d cable f r om the compute r ’ s M I D I Out to the M R - R ack ’ s M I D I I n.
