To access the Parameters described on this page (unless otherwise noted):
press the Params button, turn the Parameter knob to locate the parameter,
and then turn the Value knob to change the parameter's setting.

A Pa r t pa r amete r is an o ff set when it would typically be used to a ff ect all o f a Sound ’ s laye r s
at once while r etaining thei r di ff e r ent settings in r elation to one othe r . O ff set pa r amete r s
o ff e r values that have positive/negative aspects ( denoted with a “ + ” o r “ - ”) . W hen an o ff set is
set to “ 0, ” the o r iginally p r og r ammed value f o r each laye r is in e ff ect.
Layer 1 's parameter is set to 96
Layer 2 's parameter is set to 27
Layer 3 's parameter is set to 44
Layer 1 's parameter is set to 106
Layer 2 's parameter is set to 37
Layer 3 's parameter is set to 54
An offset
value of +10
raises all of
the Sound's
layers by
value of +10
Note:
Pa r t o ff sets ad j ust laye r pa r amete r s only within the pa r amete r s ’ legitimate
r anges — o ff sets will not f o r ce them beyond those limits. I f a Pa r t o ff set pa r amete r
appea r s to be having no e ff ect, it ’ s likely that the laye r pa r amete r has al r eady
r eached its maximum o r minimum setting.

T he r e may be times when you ’ d like to abandon you r Pa r t editing o r Sound selections and
quickly r etu r n the M R - R ack to the state it was in when you f i r st powe r ed it up.
T he M R - R ack contains a special Pe r f o r mance called “

PlaySounds, ” which is selected when
you tu r n the M R - R ack on ( unless you ’ ve changed the M R ’ s wake-up settings — see

I n the

PlaySounds Pe r f o r mance :
• Pa r ts 1 th r ough 16 a r e set to M I D I channels 1 th r ough 16.
• a Sound f r om the DE M O-SND SoundFinde r catego r y is selected f o r each Pa r t.
• all o f the Pa r t pa r amete r s a r e r eset to thei r de f ault settings.
• Pa r t 1 is designated as the I nse r t Cont r ol Pa r t (

• P r ess the Pe r f o r mance and Sound buttons simultaneously.
Protecting Your Part Edits
W hen you ’ ve made changes to a Pa r t ’ s pa r amete r s, those changes a r e tempo r a r y until you
save the cu rr ent Pe r f o r mance o r the Pa r t ’ s Sound. T he M R - R ack lets you choose whethe r
you r edits will be r etained when new Sounds a r e selected f o r Pa r ts, and when the M R - R ack
r eceives R eset A ll Cont r olle r s M I D I messages.
To Set What Happens to Edits When New Sounds Are Selected
1. P r ess the System button.
2. T u r n the Pa r amete r s knob until the display shows :
