Sound Settings
W hile most o f the Sound Edito r pa r amete r s r e f e r to a single laye r s within a Sound, the
f ollowing suite o f pa r amete r s apply to the whole Sound.
Layers in Sound
Dete r mines the numbe r o f laye r s to be used in the Sound being edited o r c r eated. Each
Sound can have up to 16 laye r s, depending on available memo r y in the M R - R ack.
Range:
1 to 16
Bend Down
Dete r mines the maximum numbe r o f semitone steps by which the pitch-bend enabled
laye r s in the Sound will be lowe r ed o r r aised when the M R - R ack r eceives Pitch Bend
messages f r om a M I D I Pitch Bend wheel pulled all the way down ( back ) .
Range:
12 down to 12 up, O ff
Bend Up
Dete r mines the maximum numbe r o f steps by which the pitch-bend enabled laye r s in
the Sound will be r aised o r lowe r ed when the M R - R ack r eceives Pitch Bend messages
f r om a M I D I Pitch Bend wheel pushed all the way up (f o r wa r d ) .

Restrike Limit
Dete r mines the numbe r o f consecutive keyst r ikes o f the same key in the same laye r
be f o r e voice-stealing occu r s. V elocity-switched Sounds may r esult in keyst r ikes
sounding f r om di ff e r ent laye r s, the r e f o r e allowing mo r e keyst r ikes be f o r e note-stealing
is activated. I n a standa r d Sound, the De f ault value is equivalent to 2 voices/laye r s. I f
the Sound is used by a D r um K it, the De f ault value changes to 6 voices/laye r s.
