Chapter 6 —Special Commands
To access the Parameters described on this page (unless otherwise noted):
Press the Save button , turn the Parameter knob to locate the action , and
then turn the Value knob to select the object of the action .

Dumping the Current Performance
T his command is used to t r ansmit the cu rr ently selected Pe r f o r mance as M I D I SysEx data to
any M I D I sto r age device capable o f r eceiving a M I D I SysEx dump. Once sa f ely sto r ed, the
SysEx data may be r e-t r ansmitted back to the M R - R ack ’ s memo r y. I f you ’ r e unclea r what

To Dump the Current Performance
1. Connect a M I D I cable f r om the M R - R ack M I D I Out to the M I D I I n o f the r eceiving unit
( the one you will use to sto r e SysEx in f o r mation ) .
2. Set up the r eceiving unit to r eceive SysEx messages. I ts manual should contain
inst r uctions on how to do this.
3. P r ess the M R - R ack ’ s Pe r f o r mance button and select the Pe r f o r mance that you want to
save via a SysEx dump.
Important:
W hen pe r f o r ming SysEx dumps f r om the M R - R ack, make note o f you r M R -
R ack ’ s cu rr ent SysEx Device I D numbe r . T his numbe r is embedded in the dumped
data. Y ou r M R - R ack will need to be set to this I D numbe r when you want to r e-
t r ansmit the data back into the M R - R ack. See “ Using SysEx Device I Ds ” in

4. P r ess the Save button.
5. T u r n the Pa r amete r knob until “ Dump : ” appea r s in the bottom line o f the display.
6. T u r n the V alue knob all the way counte r clockwise. T he display shows :
Hit ENTER to:
Dump:ThisPerformance
7. P r ess the Ente r button. T he display momenta r ily con f i r ms you r dump.
8. Save the SysEx in f o r mation in you r r eceiving device as explained in its manual.
