Choosing a Real-Time Insert Effect Modulator
T he M R - R ack allows you to use a numbe r o f r eal-time E ff ect modulato r s :
• O ff— no E ff ect modulation
• Full M od A mt — to set the M od Dest to its maximum amount
• V elocity — the M od Dest r esponds to the quickness, o r ha r dness, o f M I D I keyst r ikes
• V el+P r essu r e — the M od Dest r esponds to the quickness, o r ha r dness, o f M I D I keyst r ikes
combined with the f o r ce by which keys, once st r uck, a r e p r essed down into the
keyboa r d
• +Pos M I D I key# — the M od Dest uses the most r ecent M I D I K ey note numbe r as its value
setting, f r om 0 f o r the lowest note o f the M I D I pitch r ange to 127 f o r the highest note.
• -Neg M I D I key# — the M od Dest uses the most r ecent M I D I K ey note numbe r as its value
setting, f r om 127 f o r the lowest note o f the M I D I pitch r ange to 0 f o r the highest note.
• P r essu r e — the M od Dest r esponds to the f o r ce by which keys, once st r uck, a r e p r essed
down into the keyboa r d
• Pitch W heel — the M od Dest r esponds to the position o f a Pitch Bend wheel, with a
median modulation value p r oduced by the wheel at r est in the middle, and with the
wheel all the way f o r wa r d p r oducing the g r eatest modulation
• M od W heel — the M od Dest r esponds to the up/down position o f a M odulation wheel,
with the wheel all the way f o r wa r d p r oducing the g r eatest modulation
• W heel+P r ess — the M od Dest r esponds to the up/down position o f a M odulation wheel,
combined with the f o r ce by which keys, once st r uck, a r e p r essed down into the
keyboa r d
• FootPedal — M I D I f oot pedal messages, with the g r eatest modulation being p r oduced by
the pedal pushed all the way f o r wa r d
• Sustain — a sustain pedal, most use f ul as an E ff ects modulato r when it ’ s used f o r a
pa r amete r that can be toggled on and o ff
• Sostenuto — a sostenuto pedal, most use f ul as an E ff ects modulato r when it ’ s used f o r a
pa r amete r that can be toggled on and o ff
• SysC T R L 1 — System Cont r olle r 1, a special r eal-time modulato r that you can add to the
M R - R ack ’ s designated r eal-time modulato r s ( see “ Setting Up New R eal- T ime Cont r olle r s ”
