Device verification and auto-validation

The J22 TDLAS Gas Analyzer features auto-validation technology for verification of device functionality without

process interruption, using Heartbeat Techology. Heartbeat Technology also enables accurate monitoring for process

optimization and predictive maintenance.
Auto-validation relies upon calibration gas of a known concentration value. During auto-validation, process gas flow

is blocked with use of a 3-way solenoid valve, which allows calibration gas to flow to the analyzer. A basic

illustration of a typical setup is provided below. For J22 auto-validation, all external hardware is customer-supplied.

When using auto-validation, the J22 controls the external solenoid valve automatically through IO2 or IO3. A relay or

switch output assigned to either IO2 or IO3 must be configured for this purpose.
The gas concentration value is input into the J22 analyzer through the webserver, Modbus commands, or keypad.

The validation measurement is compared with a percent allowance of the gas concentration value to determine a

pass or fail. Auto-validation results can be viewed on the webserver, tied to a validation warning alarm, and saved as

a Heartbeat Verification report.
